PATA Business Pack

The PATA Business Pack is a resource to support in the management of early years and out of school settings, particularly those with a voluntary management committee. Statutory guidance and good practice sit together as key aspects of managing settings. The pack is not intended as an authority on the law but is intended to give relevant information for setting managers and committees to carry out their responsibility effectively and confidently.

It is presented in a hardwearing and attractive A4 ring binder. Each section includes guidance in an accessible style and signposting to relevant legislation and documentation for specific information. Details of agencies with expertise in the broad and diverse issues that impacts on the running of early years and childcare settings have also been included. There are appendices that can be copied and used by settings. .

The sections are: .

  • About community settings – charity and committee issues
  • Financial management
  • Employing staff
  • Safety Issues
  • Policies
  • Publicity and marketing.

Whilst it will be an invaluable resource for voluntary groups, private and maintained settings will also find much of interest.
