SEN 2: Identification, Intervention and the My Plan Process

COURSE AIM: To understand the importance of identification, intervention and the My Plan Process to support individual needs.

COURSE INFORMATION: This session will explore the need to recognise the importance of early identification and intervention to promote best outcomes for all children and especially those with additional needs. Understanding will be developed in how to identify appropriate long, medium and short term targets for those with additional needs that provide high expectations and achievement through SMART plans.

Course objectives:

  • Overview of Gloucestershire's SEND Graduated Pathway     
  • Differentiate learning for children
  • Know at least 3 different observation and assessment methods
  • Describe the purpose of early intervention in line with the SEN Code of Practice
  • Write SMART long, medium and short term targets      
         

SUITABLE FOR: Early Years SENDCOs and all those interested in supporting young children with special needs.
