Characteristics of Effective Learning

Course Aim: To support senior staff and Level 3/5 students to explore each of the 3 characteristics in more depth.

Course Information: The Characteristics of Effective Learning are interlinked to the prime and specific areas of learning and describe how a child learns.  Because of this they should also contribute to what is offered in the learning environment.

If surrounded by a stimulating learning environment children will learn through play and exploration, but with support from a skilful practitioner children can make more significant progress.  By considering the different ways children learn and reflecting theses in everyday practice, practitioners will help children reach their full potential.

During the course links will be made to theory and practice to enable senior staff to support key persons with making more effective observations and assessments to plan next steps.

This will link to teaching and learning judgement in the Common Inspection Framework.

Suitable For: Senior staff and those looking to move into senior positions, Level 3 and Level 5 students.

Date: Friday 7 July  from 10.00am-2.30pm
