Early Years Educator and Deputy Manager Maternity Cover vacancy – fixed term initially – term time only. 25 hours a week with potential to increase. Pay Rate: £12.82 per hour. Start date: December 2026.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, caring and experienced practitioner with a Level 3 qualification in childcare to join our small team on a fixed term contract basis initially.  Hours will initially be 25 per week, with potential for increase. There may also be an opportunity for the right candidate to stay on after the fixed term in a further part time capacity.

Deputy Playgroup Leader required, term time only, for 13 hours per week with view to increased hours as and when needed. Working Mondays and Thursdays between 8:40am - 3:10pm, plus an hour paperwork. Whiteshill Playgroup has been serving the families of Whiteshill and the wider Stroud area since 1985. We have a fantastic team, all of whom are professional, enthusiastic, and passionate about early years education.

We are seeking experienced early years practitioners to join our bank staff team, mostly covering for illness, busy periods, and other unexpected events. The role is on an ad hoc basis, but it’s likely that at least one successful applicant will be offered one day a week until the end of the academic year.

The playgroup is open daily during term time from 8:30am - 3:00pm, Tuesday to Friday, and welcomes children between 2 and 4 years old.

Applicants should possess an NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Early Years Education & Childcare or equivalent, and be proactive and motivated to assist the existing team in the day-to-day running of the setting. Located in the heart of Leckhampton, Broadlands is a thriving community preschool. Open during term time, we care for approximately 50 children, aged between 2 and 5 years.  Broadlands is a popular setting, currently with most days running at full capacity. The Broadlands staff team are a friendly group and are supported by an active Committee of Volunteers. 

Broadlands currently runs sessions between 9:00am and 3.30pm weekdays during term time. Staff are required to work beyond these hours to set up and tidy up and to attend meetings. 

We are looking for someone with superb communication skills and the ability to work well in a team. 

Previous experience in a childcare setting is necessary together with a real enthusiasm for creating a fun environment in which children can learn.
